  • Lamb provides high levels of zinc and iron. Iron is vital for the formation of red blood cells. Zinc is essential for growth, healing and a healthy immune system. The zinc and iron found in lamb, and mutton is more easily absorbed than from other sources.
  • Lamb is an great sauce of high quality protein.
  • As a result of improved breeding, and high quality butchering methods the fat in lamb has been reduced greatly over the past 20 years. When this fact is coupled with our all natural feeds policy you can be sure of receiving a lean lamb from Somerset Farm Direct (but we are aware that a certain amount of fat is necessary for good flavour).
  • Half the fat in lamb is unsaturated which is good for you
  • Lamb is a good source of B Vitamins (B 12), essential for metabolic reactions in the body.
  • Lamb contains trace elements such as copper, manganese and selenium
