All our meat is delivered to you farm fresh so can be frozen

This Easter season why not stock up with our acclaimed chicken and duckling. Together with packs of breasts and drumsticks they make a wonderful standby in the deep freeze. Spring lamb from friends of ours in the Taunton Vale now replace our own Exmoor lamb which have all gone. This seasons crop should be available from August onwards.

Excellent cooks need excellent products so do visit our FARM SHOP and enjoy what many consider to be some of the country's finest meat and poultry.

We have lots of lovely beef and pork and plenty of poultry too.  We have held our nerve following the largely media-generated panic about bird 'flu and our poultry remain truly free range and delicious.

Here are the rams who fathered the lambs
Isn’t it dreadful, they don’t give a damn

Here are the ladies so snug and so warm,
Inside them are lambs who’ll shortly be born

Here is the sheepdog, jumping the gate,
The sheep are escaping, she mustn’t be late.

We can now add extras to red meat and poultry boxes. For redmeat these include lamb shanks, pork sausages and chops, bacon, fillets of beef and sirloin steaks.

With poultry we can add chicken breasts, supremes, drumsticks, liver, and duck liver.( If you holiday in France you will know how they love duck liver. Isobel cooks it with mange tout yum yum)

E-mail or telephone us for prices and to discuss your own requirements.

Somerset Farm Direct was set up by our family (David, Isobel, Dan and Matt Wood) and we run it from our home, Bittescombe Farm, which is in West Somerset on the edge of Exmoor. The farm produces about 1200 lambs a year from its 740 ewe flock that lambs in April.  This year we are due to start on 1st April and are now geared up and ready to go. Find out what's happening with the sheep through our monthly  Farm Update.
